Treeno

Records Management

Powerful. Flexible. Easy-to-Use.
Treeno Versioning Module allows you to manage changes to your electronic documents through the use of our version control. Any document can be checked-out of the system using our browser interface and checked back in using that same interface. The Treeno Content Server maintains version history, so you can see previous changes to the document. There is also a built-in audit to see who made changes and when they occurred. Although Treeno's versioning capability is available for all file types, it is most commonly used with Microsoft Office documents. For that reason, Treeno has provided the Treeno Microsoft Office Plug-in which plugs into the Word and Excel toolbar, allowing users to seamlessly check document into the Treeno Content Server. As a document is checked out of the Treeno Content Server, routing information is embedded into Word or Excel, allowing the user to edit the document and check-in those changes with one click. Since the Treeno Microsoft Office Plug-In knows where the document was stored in the Treeno Content server, it is able to store it in the same place, but as a new version of the same document. When a document is checked out it will remain locked by the user who checked out the document until it is checked in. This prevents users from overwriting each other's changes, however, users can still view a checked out document in read-only mode.

Treeno Annotations provide mark-ups and annotations on scanned documents. Individual pages can be highlighted, stamped with images or text, and can be redacted (selective information can be hidden from users). When information is redacted, you can prevent content on a page to be viewed by unauthorized users logged into the Treeno Content Server, or information can be hidden only when it is emailed or printed. All annotations are done within the browser with no plug-ins to install.

Treeno Workflow Engine provides document-centric workflow to any file stored in the Treeno Content Server. Workflow's can range in complexity from a simple sign-off or notification to a multi-department process with integration to external systems. All this is possible with Treeno's intuitive graphical interface which is used to define the steps of a workflow, what action is to take place, and which users or groups are involved. As users are assigned a workflow item, they can manage them in their TODO list, with priority settings and due dates.

An abundance of data is collected as items move through the workflow process. All of this information can be reported on allowing for managers to identify bottlenecks in workflow processes, level-loading concerns, and performance numbers for each individual in your organization. With the addition of Treeno's Web Services SDK, workflow's can also trigger external events and can integrate with third party applications. For example, after a "new prospect" workflow completes, the external trigger could enter client information into a CRM system — eliminating the need for duplicate data entry.

Workflow's are initiated or triggered in many different ways including incoming emails, faxes, a Web Service call, a scanned document, a scanned bar code, through the web interface, as well as many other options. As items enter the workflow they are instantly tracked and are available for reporting and auditing purposes.

Active Directory is available for the Treeno Content Server allowing for enterprise deployments to manage authentication for an organization's user base. Treeno's Content Server can centralize authentication and password management by connecting to an Active Directory Server or an LDAP-compliant server.
